The Paperweight Mall
Clichy Scrambe Paperweight Last year we were browsing a local household clearance auction sale lots and found a very scratched, dirty paperweight in the bottom of a box of mixed glass. With careful examination we were just able to see parts of a rose cane. The box also contained a second slightly larger scrambled weight which we were unable to identify at the time. We obtained the box cheaply and with careful washing the beauty of this weight was revealed and we were certain we had a Clichy scramble about 2.3 inches in diameter. The other weight was identified as a Baccarat Macedonian. Bob Hall polished both weights for us and we have now two very nice paperweights for our collection. It is also good to think that we have rescued these antiques from possible oblivion.
