This is a large, 3.5 inch diameter, early and very complex limited edition paperweight of which only 295 were ever made. A raised dome of complex millefiori and latticino cones on a blue ground has a central aperture of approximately 0.8 inches in diameter through which a lower layer of close-packed complex millefiori canes can be seen. Although this is a very beautiful and much sought after weight the design does have one problem in that it is evident from examining the base that many of lower layer close-packed millifiore canes cannot be actually be seen from above.
